SHORT FILM COMPETITION PROGRAM II — UNEXPECTED NATURES

Handlung

Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin 2026. A rock speaks, an invisible worker dances herself into view, a filmmaker confronts the people he has turned into cinema, and wildlife inhabits the toxic remains of Soviet industry. Moving between animation, documentary, essay, and performance, these films descend underground — into buried histories, hidden lives, and damaged landscapes. Between destruction and renewal, they reveal life reorganizing itself within the ruins. Ukrainian with English subtitles (OmeU). Short Films: I. Kyiv Cake | Mykyta Lyskov | 20' /// II. Mind Your Step | Alina Milkina | 5' /// III. Alter Ego | Sonia Leliukh | 10' /// IV. Giant | Vadim Mochalov | 16' /// V. I Am a Rock | Teta Tsybulnyk | 5' /// VI. White Cliffs of Vinnytsia | Karolina Uskakovych | 23'.
