BALI KINO BERLIN

Teltower Damm 33, 14169 Berlin

About this cinema

The Bali began as a 1920s dance-hall extension of the neighbouring Burg Hotel, and became a public cinema in 1946 using a projector Soviet soldiers left behind — the name comes from Bahnhofslichtspiele, a nod to its position by Zehlendorf station. Under new management since 2024, it reopened after a three-month renovation in October 2024. It has one hall, seating 98, with an 8×4m screen.

The Bali still keeps its old 35mm projectors alongside a digital setup, and its programme leans into Eastern European cinema through the recurring Kino der Nachbarn series alongside children's films and concerts. It's the only cinema still running in Zehlendorf, and its annual programme has been recognised with an award for 25 years running.
