Bundesplatz-Kino
About this cinema
The cinema on Bundesplatz opened in 1913 as a shop-front cinema in a residential building and reopened as early as May 1945. After decades as the Bundesplatz-Studio it was overhauled in 2011 by a team of film enthusiasts and reopened with 88 seats, all of them taken from hall 1 of the old Zoo Palast.
Expect arthouse films in both dubbed and original versions, together with film-historical series and classics for children too. The foyer café has a small library of film books, and in summer tables spill out in front. The old Bundesplatz Studio sign still hangs above the door.
