Cinema Paris
About this cinema
Cinema Paris opened in 1950 inside the Maison de France on Kurfürstendamm, a building reconstructed in 1948–1950 by architect Hans Semrau. A 1983 bombing closed it until a 1985 reopening; the Yorck Kinogruppe has run the single-screen cinema since 1994.
Programming centres on French-language and European art films, mostly shown in original version with subtitles, and the cinema hosts French Film Week and the youth festival Cinefête. The building was declared Berlin's 1,000th listed monument in 1993, making it a fixture for the Ku'damm's French and cinephile crowd.
