CineStar Berlin - Kino in der KulturBrauerei
About this cinema
The cinema occupies the former brewhouse of the Schultheiss brewery in Prenzlauer Berg, where brewing stopped in 1967 and the whole complex has been a listed monument since 1974. It opened in 2000 as a Village Cinema, changed hands twice in its first two years and has been run by CineStar since 2003.
Original versions are a large part of the programme, many of them with German subtitles, which makes it a natural choice for mixed groups. The entrance is from the brewery courtyard or from Sredzkistraße. The red-brick yards around it hold theatres, clubs and a museum, so an evening rarely ends at the credits.
