CineStar Tegel opened on 25 March 1999 as part of the Hallen am Borsigturm, the shopping centre built into the old Borsig works by the Tegeler See. It is a new building, but steel pillars from the industrial halls are worked into it. Nine screens range from 148 seats to 471 in hall 1.
Hall 8 has a starry sky of light bulbs across its ceiling. The programme is mainstream first-run cinema, nearly all of it in German. The cinema sits on level 4 of the centre's car park, and the U6 stop Borsigwerke is a short walk away.
