Filmrauschpalast Berlin
About this cinema
Filmrauschpalast occupies a 1911 industrial building designed for the Wertheim department-store group's property arm, later a butcher's shop and biscuit factory before closing in 1973. Squatted in 1991, it became home to the volunteer-run Filmrausch association, whose single 60-seat screen has run continuously since 1995.
You're at Moabit's only cinema, an all-volunteer operation with a monthly slot reserved for 35mm and 16mm prints alongside its digital programme, focused on offbeat and Asian-cinema retrospectives. In summer the inner courtyard becomes an open-air screen, and the on-site KuFa-Café stays open around showtimes.
