Kino Casablanca Berlin
About this cinema
The building at Friedenstraße 12 in Adlershof opened as the Central-Kino in 1912. From 1958 it served as a costume store for East German television and stood closed as a cinema for over three decades. It reopened on 10 November 1994 under the name Casablanca, with roughly 90 seats.
A small bar styled after Rick's Café gives the room its name and mood, and a long-running breakfast-cinema slot keeps the programme playful. The house won the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg's film programme prize in 2015. It's a neighbourhood fixture in Adlershof, mixing arthouse, anime and family titles.
