About this cinema

Kino UNION am Kaisersteg is a seasonal open-air screen on a Spree-side meadow in Oberschöneweide, between the Kaisersteg footbridge and the Treskow-Brücke. It has no permanent building: a single 12-metre screen with 4K digital projection goes up outdoors each summer, run by the local Unternehmerkreis Schöneweide business association rather than a conventional cinema operator.

You bring your own blanket or chair — there is no fixed seating — and buy food and drinks from local vendors on site. The programme leans broad and family-friendly rather than curated arthouse, and the draw is the setting itself: watching films outdoors beside the Spree.
