Kino Zukunft Berlin

About this cinema

Kino Zukunft's predecessor ran on Laskerstraße until its lease ended in 2021 and the site was cleared in 2023. The collective relocated to Alt-Stralau 68 on the Spree: the bar opened in September 2023, and the single 64-seat screen — seating sourced partly from a defunct West German cinema — followed on 9 December 2023.

You'll find it alongside Tilsiter Lichtspiele and Intimes on Berlin's "Kinoachse," a small network of independent cinemas run by the same collective. Expect independent, experimental and international film with a Kneipe attached, built deliberately outside profit-driven cinema — popular with Friedrichshain's Programmkino crowd. A seasonal open-air screen runs alongside it in summer.
