NOMADEN KINO
About this cinema
Nomadenkino is a mobile open-air cinema that sets up seasonally aboard the ship Agathe, moored on the Spree at Holzmarkt. It screens with two vintage Zeiss TK 35 projectors built in the 1950s by VEB Carl Zeiss Jena, switching to digital only where no 35mm print exists. The programme mixes curated arthouse features and documentaries.
Screenings happen outdoors on the ship's deck, on the water rather than in a conventional cinema seat, so dress for the evening air. Language varies by night — check whether a screening is OmU or dubbed before booking. The setting on the Spree is what draws people back, not just the programme.
