The cinema opened in April 1999 as the UCI Kinowelt Le Prom, named after the leisure centre in Marzahn that houses it. When the Eastgate shopping centre opened next door in 2005, the cinema took its name. It has eight screens with 1,650 seats.
Le Prom also holds a bowling alley and several restaurants, so the cinema works well for a whole evening out. The programme is mainstream first-run cinema in German. The Marzahn bus station sits on the square directly in front of the Eastgate.
