ZEUGHAUSKINO / Deutsches Historisches Museum
About this cinema
The Zeughauskino has run inside Berlin's Zeughaus, the oldest building on Unter den Linden (built 1695–1706) and a listed monument, since a screening hall was set up there in 1958 and put into regular use in 1992. During the Zeughaus's ongoing renovation, since January 2023 the programme has run from the museum's neighbouring Pei-Bau.
It's one of Berlin's key repertory houses for film history, running historical retrospectives, German-cinema series, and documentary strands like the monthly Berlin.Dokument. The single 164-seat hall still projects genuine 35mm prints alongside digital, a rarity worth knowing if you want the original format rather than a scan.
